Jewelry: Lost or Stolen
Most of us fantasize about the expensive jewelry we see the celebs parading, but for the more criminally-minded, they can be an irresistible temptation. Here are two famous celebrity theft stories.
Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton are both known for a wild life style and affection for the fine things in life. They are now also known for huge jewelry thefts.
In September 2006 Lohan was on her way out of Heathrow Airport in London when she noticed that her hand bag was missing. Losing a hand bag is unfortunate, but far from devastating. However, the bag contained $1 million worth of jewelry and accessories.

"Why carry so much valuable jewelry in your hand bag?" You might ask. Well, the story does not end here. A short time after the incident a chauffeur at Heathrow found a bag forgotten on a luggage trolley and handed it over to the police, who confirmed that it was Lohan's bag with all its contents intact. Apparently, the bag was forgotten and not stolen. So the question becomes: "How can you just forget behind $1 million of jewelry on a trolly at the airport?"

Paris Hilton was not so careless as unfortunate. Recently, on December 2008, a thief broke into her LA home and stole jewelry and valuables worth more than $2 million. While Paris was out partying a burglar entered her mansion, and went directly for the jewelry. He was caught on tape on a surveillance camera, but a black hood concealed his face, making identification impossible.
After the theft Paris confessed to be devastated by the loss not only of precious jewelry but of her grandmother's heirloom and items of sentimental value. In response she increased her security to three body guards and 24 hrs patrol at the mansion.
