With an early background in the diamond jewelry business, and a lot of his own personal style, Eli Hallili knows fashion when he sees it. When he discovered the jewelry by Israeli designers Einat Agassi and Tamar Harel-Klein, he knew he discovered an unpolished gem.
Branding them as Agas & Tamar (pear and date in Hebrew), Eli knew that there was a good fate in store for the brand. Yet, not wanting to 'polish' the raw beauty of the brand, he has brought it to the US market in its own natural beauty. Just like the brand itself does with the gems and the brushed precious metals incorpotated into the pieces. Eli explains, "We don't do anything matchy matchy. We've had people ask us, sure, but we usually won't do it. It's better to have pieces working together for harmony, rather than boring matching sets." While much of the line is directed towards women, there is a substantial collection for men, and Eli loves to wear Agas & Tamar pieces together with his favorite designers: Marc Jacobs and Christian LaCroix.
