Ana was born in Russia and immigrated to Denver, CO when she was two years old. She grew up with her Ukrainian mother and grandmother dictating what she wears. Most of the time, she looked cute. One day, she reached a breaking point in elementary school when she had to wear suspenders. From that moment on, she started to make a point to find her own personal style and develop tastes in fashion and jewelry. She went through a tomboy phase, an I-hate-fashion phase, and then became a total girly girl.
Fast forward to her years at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She had great experiences, such as studying abroad in Alicante, Spain, and making wonderful friends. Most of her personal growth happened in these years, when she learned she was born to travel and see the world, and appreciate the beauty of it. Yet Ana also had a very straining double major in Biochemistry and Spanish. Ana quickly got lost in the shuffle of school and in all the books she had to study. Her passions and interests started taking the back burner, and it really took a toll. By her senior year, Ana had had it. She needed an outlet, and started focusing her attention to her own personal health, art, fashion, blogging and tasty foods to relieve the stress.
Ana's exposure to different cultures continues to influence her taste in fashion. The flamenco dancers in Spain, with their bright red lipstick and colorful dresses, to the beautiful embroidery of Eastern European sarafans, to the exotic jewelry of Arabia, continue to shape her style. She is constantly inspired by beautiful artwork, bright colors and mixing in a little bit of Colorado comfort. Ana's go-to accessories are definitely earrings and shoes. She is a self-proclaimed shoe-aholic. Shoes are seriously candy for her feet. Her favorite types of earrings range from chandeliers to simple pearls.
Who is she now? She is a dreamer, nomad, a scientist, a little bit OCD (she constantly needs her surroundings to be organized), a bit of a procrastinator and of course a lover of fashion and food. Ana is still trying to find who this girl is but now, through all her experiences and adventures, she is starting to get a much clearer picture.
LeProcrastinista.com was born when Ana realized she needed that creative outlet. Her interests were so many, and she wanted one place to centralize them, and watch herself evolve. Le Procrastinista got its name from the popular memes where they use "le" to refer to English words (Le Mom, Le Me, etc), and her undying habit of putting things off. Ana's intent is to meld her signature sarcasm, to things relating to fashion, food and friends. You can't ever take life too seriously, and might as well appreciate its beauty.
