Crevoshay is Poetry
LOTUS
VOICES OF THE EARTH ©Paula Crevoshay
Paula Crevoshay is dedicated to art and more specifically: beauty. This is certainly not limited to the gems she selects and the jewelry she creates. When she speaks, she speaks poetically and the words she chooses create images of beauty in the mind of the listener, and she inspires. When I recently looked back over my notes from one interview with Paula, I was so inspired, I decided I wanted to "set" some of her quotes as one might set a gem: as poetry.
At regular intervals I hope to come back and add a poem consisting solely of quotes from Paula Crevoshay, so that all our readers can enjoy the beauty of her speech and understand her, and through her, her creations that much more. The first one came from when she was explaining some topics she hoped to cover for a PowerPoint presentation she was putting together for a museum.
For those of you who don't know, Paula is a firm believer in the importance of museums and has dedicated much time and also many of her pieces to museums and the education of future generations. As she explains: "I wouldn't want our generation to go down in the sands of time...."
When I asked what the generation meant to her, she answered "Being free, being American, and living in such an opulent time until now, lived in great support and oppulance in post-war america."
When I looked at my notes from the words she chose for her presentation, it screamed "POETRY" at me. So here is how I read it in my mind:
LOTUS
halos, rays of granulation.
feet in the mud,
the flower turns its face to the sun.
