Ippolita is named after its founder, Ippolita Rostagno, the daughter of an American artist mother and an Italian intellectual father. She eventually earned a Baccalaureate in sculpture and the highly respected Instituto D'Arte in Florence. Ippolita spent the first months as a jewelry designer developing her own signature gold color, a glowing shade that flatters every skin tone, from dark to light and in-between. Her aim was to imitate the gold hue of Ancient Rome to add a classic and yet understated natural touch. "Jewelry is emotional," says Ippolita, "The very color of my gold jewelry attracts you to it….my goal is to create jewelry that you really want to wear all the time, that is easy and makes you feel good…jewelry that is unintimidating and yet cool."
