Israeli designer Noa Sade and China born fashion guru Vanessa Lee have collaborated to create a jewelry collection fit for a queen, Lionette, The line has been billed as untamed and empowering, and the description is fitting for a luxury line born out of nature. Launched in the summer of 2010, the first (unnamed) collection of Eastern-inspired designs made them the darlings of the NYC independent design set and earned them the adoration of the East Coast celebrity circle. Lionette designer Sade is heavily influenced by Middle Eastern and African designs, inspiring her to create jewelry which is exotic, while avoiding the pitfalls of mysticism. From an early age she found her inspiration in the art and handiwork created by her parents and her brothers. She travelled extensively in the Middle East and Africa, collecting the stones which would later inspire her own designs. “In Africa, you cannot miss (a stone). It’s a part of nature…They were magical to me.”
The business end of the collaborative pair, Vanessa Lee, brings her industry savvy and innate good style to Lionette. Vanessa began her career as a buyer, handpicking the crème de la crème of new designers and their collections. When she paired with Noa Sade, she found a new outlet to express her love of all things fashion.
