Subversive Jewelry for Monaghan

A Subversive Jewelry necklace designed by CFDA award-winner Justin Giunta, caught many eyes earlier this month when it was worn by Michelle Monaghan at the Invictus Premiere Pictures of Michelle showed up on many celebrity websites and blogs.  One thing I noticed: despite the shocking skinful profile view of Michelle's dress, most pictures of her at the event are head-on shots that show off Justin Giunta design at its finest.

Of the celebrity sites I checked out, at least 3/4 of them showed Michelle from the front, wearing the gorgeous black Subversive Jewelry creation by Justin Giunta.  The necklace has a large (of course, this is Justin Giunta we are talking about!), jaggedly tear-drop shaped, black stone hanging in the center.  Otherwise, it is fairly asymmetrical with an awesome claw like, toothed metal piece showing off and contrasting with the pale, milky neck that Michelle Monaghan is lucky enough to posses.

Speaking of contrasts, the gold-colored chapel bells that adorn this dark (or shall we say Subversive Creation) are certainly thought provoking.  I wonder what inspired Justin to add this contrast to this particular Subversive Jewelry piece for Michelle Monaghan.

In any event, I am always very happy to see Justin Giunta designs being enjoyed by celebrities and shown off in the news.  I was just intrigued and pleased to see so many photographers focus on the view with the Subversive Jewelry, rather than the one that simply showed off the lovely white milky shape and skin of Michelle Monaghan at the December premiere of Invictus.
