Tis the season of warm weather, breezy beaches, and the no longer laziness that the winter bug brought on. Say goodbye to the chunky sweaters, thick wool socks, and knee high boots for good and dig deeper into your closet for those adorable maxi dresses, sandals, and linen tanks galore. But with warmer weather does come some challenges to us fashion gals. The biggest battle of all ... how do we dress down without being a boring bloke? The answer is simple. Just because the temperature is increasing does not mean that you have to resort to solid colored beaters and jean cutoffs. My favorite way to still look great in the skimpiest of ways is to mix my patterns and prints. Instead of the comforting white tee and khaki shorts, try a pair of polka dot cutoffs and a striped tank. I know this might sound a little extreme to the not so daring of folks, but the key to not looking like you just dozied out of the carni-caral is to stick with neutral prints. Tans, browns, and beiges work best when pulling off the pattern on pattern pose and from there, go crazy.
Once you have your ensemble together, whether it be cheetah and stripes, polka dots and more polka dots, or any other combination, the next step is my personal fave. Complete your look with some killer accessories. Some neck candy usually does the trick so layer the Tribeca Necklace and the Chappaqua Necklace for some metal madness. I do promise that you'll be the center of attention (and no not in the freak show, who's that chick kind of way.) Say bye bye to boring and hello to patterned perfection.
