In February 2004 New York business woman, philanthropist and socialite, Tory Burch, launched a preppy-bohemian-chic accessories and clothing brand. From her flagship boutique in downtown Manhattan Tory bucked the minimalist-look popular in ‘04. What emerged was a celebration of strong colors and loud prints bursting with passion.
The Tory Burch brand is a lifestyle concept catering to the sophisticated (and just - a little - flirtatious) American consumer at an accessible price point. In fact, a stated goal of Ms. Burch was to develop “an attainable, luxury, lifestyle brand defined by classic American sportswear with an eclectic sensibility.”

In 2008 Tory Burch beat two internationally acclaimed and respected fashion kingpins Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors for the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) as the Accessories Designer of the Year. Her products are being sold in over 450 shops worldwide. Yet, as her brand grew in popularity so did Tory’s philanthropic pursuits. With a dream to help provide “economic opportunities to women and their families,” The Tory Burch Foundation in partnership with non-profit, ACCION USA, now provides “microfinance to low income entrepreneurs in the USA.” The Tory Burch heavy double-T logo is now a globally recognized symbol of high fashion and compassion.

In January 2010 Tory Burch announced another prize - a new member to her design team, Justin Giunta. Mr. Giunta is himself an accomplished designer and worldwide trendsetter will his Subversive Jewelry brand; he will function as the Director of Jewelry Design for the Tory Burch brand. Impressive placement for a six year old brand.
